# API, webhooks and AI agents

API keys, the MCP server for Claude and other AI tools, and webhooks.

Everything in the app is also in the **API**: connecting mailboxes, contacts, campaigns, the inbox and sending.

## Create an API key

1.  Go to **Settings**, then **API & MCP**, and click **New key**.
2.  Choose what it can do: Full access, Campaigns, Contacts, Inbox, Mailboxes, Send emails, or Read only.
3.  Choose which workspaces it can use.
4.  **Copy the key now.** It won’t be shown again.

Send it with every request: `Authorization: Bearer gtm_…`

Limit: **300 requests a minute** per key. Use an `Idempotency-Key` header to retry safely without sending twice.

## Use with Claude and other AI tools (MCP)

Add our **MCP server** in Claude, Cursor or another MCP app, with an API key. Then ask in plain words, for example: “Create a 3-step campaign to my SaaS founders list from my two Zoho inboxes, 40 a day each.”

Anything that sends email asks you to confirm first.

## Webhooks

We send JSON to your URL when something happens:

`email.sent`, `email.opened`, `email.clicked`, `email.replied`, `email.bounced`, `contact.unsubscribed`, `campaign.paused`, `mailbox.disconnected`

Each request is signed with HMAC-SHA256 in the `X-Signature` header, so you can check it came from us.
